In Meghan's own words, she was "an abstract artist, a color enthusiast, and co-creator of three amazing children." Her purpose was being a mommy and partner to her husband Ryan Raveis. As the children grew, Meghan began advocating for charities; most notably; as the Managing Director of the William Raveis Charitable Fund in support of Cancer Research. In her downtime, she began creating colorful abstracts to decorate their home in Fairfield, CT. What would be considered a hobby turned into a passion; with Meghan honing in on acrylics due to the flexibility and fluidity of each piece. Meghan drew her inspiration from interior design along with the beauty and energy found in everyday life.
From time to time, we will be hosting private Abstract Art classes in different locations throughout the country. When a date is posted, we will provide all pertinent details for you to book through our calendar system. Stay in the know by joining our mailing list down below! Recently, we were able to explore the world of acrylic and abstract art at Meghan's favorite art studio, Silvermine Arts Center in New Canaan, Connecticut. Scroll through our gallery to see the fun had and remember to follow @studiomeghanraveis on Instagram where event information will also be shared.
Meghan was instrumental as Managing Director of the William Raveis Charitable Fund (WRCF). In this role she was responsible for the strategic direction, operations, promotion, execution, and placement of its fundraising efforts. Through her efforts, the fund more than quadrupled its fundraising. In 2015, she launched the largest event in the charitable fund’s history, the Raveis Ride + Walk, an annual family-friendly fundraising event supporting Damon Runyon. By 2022, the Raveis Ride + Walk had raised nearly $4 million for cancer research. In this time, WRCF has supported over 20 Damon Runyon scientists studying dozens of types of cancer with William Raveis Charitable Fund Fellowships. In 2022, the William Raveis Charitable Fund raised $465,000, with $350,000 going towards Damon Runyon and $115,000 to Dana-Farber for the 2023 year.
In her honor and memory, Damon Runyon named Anders B. Dohlman, PhD, at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute the first Meghan E. Raveis Fellow.
